After doing a rope trick with a length of red rope, you put it in a change bag (not provided). When it comes out, it is changed to a rope with a socket and plug on the ends. Screw in a bulb and plug it in. REAL electricity lights the REAL bulb. Cut the red rope and the bulb goes out. Using a device such as a sparking ring or flint flasher, you can cause sparks to fly from the cut ends as you pretend to touch them together. A simple move restores the rope, causing the bulb to go on again. You can even suspend the bulb a foot or more in the air, ala Hindu rope trick.
